Comcast announced this morning a new suite of free services for Xfinity voice customers, including outgoing calls on WiFi.
Interesting to see some innovation in the service of the voice, as some customers drop service and go mobile only wireframe.
New services are available via Apple iPhones, iPads and iPod keys, and Android devices.
The new offer, which Comcast calls voice 2 GB, consists of several parts:
Free calls and texts on WiFi using your home through the Xfinify number to connect Mobile App on WiFi calls are free of charge. You can also make calls through 3 G or 4 G wireless data plans that do not count against minutes wireless voice.Comcast is also adding new features to appeal to front, including the ability to transmit up to four additional phones or devices residential phone number. The service runs on iPhone and Android phones. With the Xfinity connection Mobile app, you can also transfer calls to iPads and iPod touch.The company also offers the possibility to place personal telephone numbers, "essentially a virtual number" not linked to the number of primary Xfinity voice, which can be used for the voice of the WiFi and text messaging.
